Peacock Throne
The Peacock Throne was a jewelled throne made for the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the seventeenth century. Nader Shah carried it off from Delhi in 1739, along with the Koh-i-Noor diamond, after his invasion of India. It was destroyed after Nader's death, and it symbolises the Afsharid Empire's plunder and the impoverishment of the Mughal state.
