Reggio Emilia
Reggio Emilia is a city in Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy, on the Via Emilia between Parma and Modena, founded by the Romans as Regium Lepidi. A medieval commune, it passed to the Este in 1409 and formed part of the Duchy of Modena and Reggio until 1859. The Italian tricolour flag was adopted there by the Cispadane Republic in 1797.
