Roermond

Roermond is a city in the Dutch province of Limburg, where the Roer joins the Meuse. A chief town of the Duchy of Guelders, it became the capital of Upper Guelders and the seat of a bishopric in 1559, and it stayed with the Spanish Netherlands after the Dutch Revolt. Its Munsterkerk and cathedral date from the Middle Ages.
