Russian Provisional Government
The Russian Provisional Government governed Russia from the abdication of Nicholas II in March 1917 until the Bolshevik seizure of power in November 1917. Led first by Prince Georgy Lvov and then by Alexander Kerensky, it granted civil liberties and in September proclaimed Russia a republic, but lost support by continuing the war against Germany and delaying land reform. It was overthrown in the October Revolution.
