Satyrus II

d. 310/309 BCE · 4th century BCE

Satyrus II was the eldest son of Paerisades I and briefly king of the Bosporan Kingdom in 310/309 BCE. Challenged by his brother Eumelus, who was supported by the native king Aripharnes, he defeated them at the river Thatis but was mortally wounded while besieging their fortress. Diodorus gives a detailed account of the war, after which Eumelus took the throne.
