Schalksburg

The Schalksburg was a castle on a hill near Balingen and Albstadt in the Swabian Jura, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. From the late thirteenth century it was the seat of a branch of the counts of Zollern, the Schalksburg line, whose lordship included Balingen. In 1403 the last count of this line sold the lordship to Württemberg. Only ruins remain.
