Spetses

Spetses is a small Greek island off the eastern coast of the Peloponnese, near the entrance to the Argolic Gulf. Like Hydra it built a merchant fleet in the 18th century, and its ships fought in the Greek War of Independence, when the island's Laskarina Bouboulina commanded vessels against the Ottomans.
