St. Georg, Nördlingen

1427–1505 · 15th century · Also known as St. Georgskirche, Nördlingen

St. Georg is the main church of Nördlingen in Bavaria, one of the largest late Gothic hall churches in southern Germany, built between 1427 and 1505, with its tower completed in 1539. The tower, about 90 metres high and known as the Daniel, overlooks the town's intact ring of medieval walls and the Ries crater, and a watchman still calls from it each evening.
