St. George's Night Uprising
St. George's Night Uprising was a rebellion of the Estonian peasantry in Harju and other districts against their German and Danish lords, begun on the night of 23 April 1343. The rebels killed many Germans and besieged Tallinn but were crushed by the Teutonic Order, after which Denmark sold its Duchy of Estonia to the Order in 1346.
