Taleh
Taleh (Taleex) is a town in the Sool region of northern Somalia, the main stronghold of the Dervish state of Mohammed Abdullah Hassan. From 1913 the Dervishes built there a complex of massive stone forts and towers. In early 1920 British aircraft bombed them in one of the first uses of air power in a colonial war, and the ground forces that followed ended the Dervish state.
