Therapne

Therapne was an ancient site on the hills east of the Eurotas, opposite Sparta in Laconia. It held the Menelaion, a shrine where Menelaus and Helen were worshipped from the 8th century BCE. Excavations there uncovered a Mycenaean mansion of the 15th to 13th centuries BCE, one of the main Bronze Age sites of Laconia.
