Helen of Troy

Also known as Helen of Sparta

In Greek mythology, Helen was the daughter of Zeus and Leda and the wife of Menelaus, king of Sparta. Her abduction or flight with the Trojan prince Paris caused the Trojan War, told in the Homeric epics. She was worshipped as a goddess in Laconia, notably at the Menelaion at Therapne near Sparta.
