1738 · 18th century · Part of the War of the Polish Succession

The Treaty of Vienna of 1738 ended the War of the Polish Succession. Augustus III was recognised as king of Poland, while his rival Stanisław Leszczyński received the Duchy of Lorraine, to pass to France after his death.
