Tripura
Tripura is a small state in north-eastern India, bordered on three sides by Bangladesh, with its capital at Agartala. For centuries it was a kingdom ruled by the Manikya dynasty, which contested Chittagong and the plains with Bengal, Arakan and the Mughals. Under British rule it was a princely state; it joined India in 1949, became a Union territory and was made a full state in 1972.
