Tuhfat al-Nafis
The Tuhfat al-Nafis ('The Precious Gift') is a Malay history of the kingdoms of Johor, Riau, Siak and the Bugis written in the nineteenth century, completed by Raja Ali Haji of Riau-Lingga around 1865 from an earlier draft by his father. It traces the Malay rulers and the Bugis princes who served as viceroys in Riau from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century, and it is a leading source for the region's history.
