Usedom
Usedom is an island in the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the Oder, divided between Germany and Poland, whose part includes the port of Świnoujście. In 1128 an assembly of Pomeranian nobles at Usedom accepted Christianity under Otto of Bamberg. In 1630 Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden landed on the island to enter the Thirty Years' War, and Sweden held it from 1648 to 1720.
