Valsgärde

Valsgärde is an archaeological burial site on the Fyris river north of Uppsala in Sweden. Its boat graves, used for generations from about 600 to the 11th century, contained helmets, weapons, horses and feasting gear. Together with Vendel they define the wealthy warrior culture of the Svear before the Viking Age.
