Vijaydurg
Vijaydurg is a sea fort on the Konkan coast of Maharashtra, India, at the mouth of the Waghotan river. Strengthened by Shivaji in the 17th century, it became a main base of the Maratha navy under Kanhoji Angre and his successors and repelled attacks by the English East India Company, until it was taken by an English and Peshwa force in 1756.
