Visegrád Group

1991 · 20th century · Also known as Visegrád Four

The Visegrád Group is a regional alliance of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, founded at Visegrád in Hungary in February 1991 by Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Poland. Its name recalls the meeting of the kings of Hungary, Bohemia and Poland at Visegrád in 1335. It helped coordinate its members' path into NATO and the European Union and continues to promote cooperation in central Europe.
