Zumbo
Zumbo was a trading settlement on the Zambezi River, in present-day Mozambique near the borders of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Gold exports were channelled through coastal trading fairs at Zumbo and Masekesa. There Portuguese and Swahili merchants bought gold and ivory in exchange for cloth, beads and manufactured goods.
