Abu al-Makarim Hibat Allah
Abu al-Makarim Hibat Allah was the chief of an Arab tribal group of the Rabi'a settled on Egypt's southern frontier around Aswan. In 1006 the Fatimid caliph al-Hakim gave him the title Kanz al-Dawla for capturing the rebel Abu Rakwa, and his successors took their name, the Banu Kanz, from it. They ruled the Aswan frontier and its Nubian marches for centuries.
