Assizes of Romania

14th century · 14th century

The Assizes of Romania is a code of feudal law compiled in the Principality of Achaea in the first half of the 14th century. It recorded the customs governing the prince, barons and vassals of Frankish Greece and was later adopted in Venetian possessions in the Aegean. It preserves cases such as the disputed inheritance of the barony of Akova.
