Athtar
Athtar (ʿAthtar) was a god of ancient South Arabia identified with the planet Venus, the male counterpart of the Mesopotamian Ishtar and the Levantine Astarte. In Sabaean and other South Arabian inscriptions he is often named first among the gods, and he was associated with rain and irrigation. His cult faded with the spread of monotheism in Yemen from the fourth century CE.
