Battle of Lutter
The Battle of Lutter was fought on 27 August 1626 near Lutter am Barenberge in Brunswick, during the Thirty Years' War. The Catholic League army under Count Tilly defeated Christian IV of Denmark, who had entered the war as leader of the Protestant cause in northern Germany. The defeat led to imperial occupation of Jutland and to the Treaty of Lübeck of 1629, which ended Danish intervention.
