Jutland
Jutland is the peninsula of northern Europe that forms the mainland of Denmark, together with the northern part of the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. Probably the homeland of the Jutes and Angles who migrated to Britain in the 5th century, it was a core land of the early Danish kingdom. Its southern part, Schleswig, was long disputed between Denmark and the German states, and in 1916 the North Sea off its coast saw the Battle of Jutland.
