Bormio
Bormio is a town in the upper Valtellina in Lombardy, northern Italy, at the foot of the Stelvio pass and known for its hot springs. As a self-governing county on the routes between Lombardy and the Tyrol, it was conquered by the Three Leagues of the Grisons in 1512 together with the Valtellina and Chiavenna. It was ruled by them as a subject land until 1797, when it passed to the Cisalpine Republic.
