Breisgau
The Breisgau is a region in south-western Germany between the Rhine and the Black Forest, centred on Freiburg. For most of the period from the fourteenth century to 1805 it belonged to the Habsburgs as part of Further Austria, before passing to Baden under Napoleon. It is known for its vineyards and mild climate.
