Brigade
A brigade is a military formation made up of several battalions or regiments, smaller than a division. Gustavus Adolphus of the Swedish Empire reorganised the massive tercio squares into smaller, more manoeuvrable brigades of musketeers and pikemen. At Adwa in 1896, the army of the Ethiopian Empire destroyed three Italian brigades.
