Cicones
The Cicones were a Thracian people living on the northern Aegean coast near Ismarus and Maroneia. In Homer's Iliad they are allies of Troy, and in the Odyssey Odysseus sacks their town of Ismarus, where the priest Maron gives him the strong wine later used against the Cyclops. Greek colonists settled in their territory from the 7th century BCE.
