Dar Fertit
Dar Fertit, the land of the Fertit, was the name given in Darfur to the country south of the sultanate, in what is now western South Sudan and the north-east of the Central African Republic. Its varied peoples, called Fertit, were raided for slaves by the sultans of Darfur and later by traders from the Nile valley, and the captives were sent north along the Darb el-Arba'in.
