Doris (Greece)
Doris is a small mountainous region of central Greece, in the upper valley of the Cephissus between Mount Oeta and Mount Parnassus. The ancient Greeks regarded it as the homeland of the Dorians, and Sparta honoured it as its mother country. It contained a small group of towns known as the Dorian Tetrapolis.
