Eupen

Eupen is a town in the province of Liège in eastern Belgium, near the German border. Part of Prussia from 1815, it was transferred with Malmedy to Belgium under the Treaty of Versailles after the First World War, annexed by Germany in 1940 and returned in 1944. Today it is the seat of the German-speaking Community of Belgium, which has its own parliament and government.
