Fustat
Fustat was the first Arab capital of Egypt, founded by Amr ibn al-As around 641 during the Rashidun Caliphate's conquest. It became a major commercial city, and it remained an important centre after the Fatimid Caliphate founded Cairo nearby. It was later absorbed into Cairo.
