Harran
Harran is an ancient city in upper Mesopotamia, in present-day south-eastern Turkey, known as a centre of the moon god Sin. After the fall of Nineveh, the last Assyrian king Ashur-uballit II made a final stand there. Its capture by the Babylonians and Medes marked the end of the Assyrian Empire.
