İspir
İspir is a town in Erzurum province in north-eastern Turkey, on the upper Çoruh river. In the Middle Ages its castle was contested between Georgians, Armenians and Turks; it was held by the Saltukids of Erzurum in the 12th century before passing to the Seljuks of Rum and later the Ottomans. Its castle still stands above the town.
