Kara Koyunlu
The Kara Koyunlu, or Black Sheep Turkomans, were a Turkoman tribal confederation that ruled parts of eastern Anatolia, Azerbaijan, Iraq and western Iran in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. They were rivals of the Aq Qoyunlu. They absorbed western Persian territories as the Timurid Empire fragmented.
