Kattegat
The Kattegat is the sea area between the Jutland peninsula and the islands of Denmark on one side and the west coast of Sweden on the other. It links the Skagerrak and the North Sea with the Baltic through the Øresund and the Danish Belts. For centuries it was a busy route of trade and war between Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
