Kutik-Inshushinak

r. c. 2100 BCE · 22nd century BCE

Kutik-Inshushinak (also read Puzur-Inshushinak) was the last king of the Awan dynasty of Elam, ruling around 2100 BCE. After the collapse of Akkadian power he freed Susa, brought Anshan and much of the Iranian plateau under his rule and campaigned into northern Babylonia, achieving the first genuine unification of the Elamite lands. He promoted the Linear Elamite script alongside Akkadian cuneiform, marking a key moment in the Elamite Confederation's foundation.
