Lake Pichola

Lake Pichola is an artificial lake at Udaipur in Rajasthan, created according to tradition in 1362 when a Banjara grain trader dammed a stream. Udai Singh II enlarged it after founding Udaipur on its eastern shore in 1559, and its islands and banks hold the City Palace, Jag Mandir and the Lake Palace, making it the centre of the city's royal architecture.
