Latmian Gulf
The Latmian Gulf was an inlet of the Aegean on the west coast of Anatolia, at the mouth of the Maeander River, on which stood the Greek cities of Miletus, Myus and Priene. Silt carried by the river gradually filled it, cutting the cities off from the sea, and its inner part survives as Lake Bafa in Turkey.
