Lordship of Argos and Nauplia

1212–1388 · 13th century

The Lordship of Argos and Nauplia was a Frankish fief in the Argolid created after the Principality of Achaea captured the strongholds of Leo Sgouros in 1212. Held by the de la Roche family as part of the Duchy of Athens and later by the house of Enghien, it passed in 1388 to Venice, when Marie of Enghien sold her lands. Nauplia then became a Venetian base.
