Maguire dynasty
The Maguires, Mág Uidhir, were the ruling family of Fermanagh in Ireland from the late 13th century to the early 17th, with their seat at Enniskillen. Often under O'Neill overlordship, they controlled the Lough Erne waterways. Hugh Maguire was a leader in the Nine Years' War, and their lands were confiscated in the Plantation of Ulster.
