Medinaceli

Medinaceli is a small hilltop town in the province of Soria, Castile, Spain, above the Jalón valley. It keeps a Roman triumphal arch and was a key fortress of al-Andalus, the base of its Middle March against the Christian kingdoms; the chamberlain al-Mansur died there in 1002. It later gave its name to the dukes of Medinaceli, one of Spain's leading noble houses.
