Misl
A misl was one of the Sikh confederacies that controlled parts of the Punjab in the eighteenth century, each led by a chief. Among them were the Sukerchakia and Bhangi misls. Ranjit Singh, leader of the Sukerchakia misl, united the misls under his rule, founding the Sikh Empire.
