Pagasetic Gulf
The Pagasetic Gulf, or Gulf of Volos, is a nearly enclosed inlet of the Aegean Sea in Thessaly, Greece, sheltered by the Pelion peninsula. The ancient cities of Pagasae and Demetrias stood on its shores, and the modern port of Volos lies at its head. From 1832 to 1881 it marked part of the northern border of the Kingdom of Greece.
