Pradyumna Shah

d. 1804 · 18th century

Pradyumna Shah was the last king of independent Garhwal in the Himalayas before the Gorkha conquest. After a Gorkha invasion in the early 1790s he agreed to pay tribute to Nepal, and when the Gorkhas invaded again in 1803 he fled his capital at Srinagar. He was killed at Khurbura near Dehradun in 1804, and Garhwal stayed under Gorkha rule until the Anglo-Nepalese War restored his son Sudarshan Shah at Tehri.
