Puzrish-Dagan
Puzrish-Dagan, the modern site of Drehem, was an administrative centre near Nippur in southern Iraq, founded by Shulgi of the Third Dynasty of Ur in the late 21st century BCE. It received, recorded and redistributed livestock delivered as taxes and offerings for the temples and the royal household. Tens of thousands of cuneiform tablets from its archives, many looted in the early 20th century, document the Ur III economy.
