Sora, Lazio

Sora is a town on the Liri river in southern Lazio, Italy. Originally a Volscian town, it changed hands between Rome and the Samnites during the Second Samnite War and received a Latin colony in 303 BCE. In the Middle Ages and early modern period it was the seat of a duchy on the border between the Kingdom of Naples and the Papal States.
