Taos, New Mexico

Taos is a town in northern New Mexico beside Taos Pueblo, a multi-storey adobe village inhabited for about a thousand years and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Under Spanish rule its annual trade fairs drew Comanche, Ute and other Plains peoples to exchange horses, captives and hides for goods. The Pueblo Revolt of 1680 was planned partly at Taos.
