Treaty of Stensby
The Treaty of Stensby was concluded in 1238 at Stensby in Zealand between King Valdemar II of Denmark and the Livonian Order, mediated by the papal legate William of Modena. It returned northern Estonia, with Rävala, Harjumaa and Virumaa, to Denmark, while Järvamaa stayed with the Order, settling the rivalry that had followed the conquest of Estonia.
